Handsome Mike is a millionaire and a multiple graded-stakes winner on dirt, turf, and synthetic. He won or placed in eight graded events and was on the board in stakes at 10 major tracks – coast-to-coast. Handsome Mike broke his maiden at Santa Anita in his second start at two, then finished second in the Gr.3 Generous Stakes at Hollywood Park in his third start. He won the Gr.2 Pennsylvania Derby by two lengths over Golden Ticket and Alpha – co-winners of the Gr.1 Travers Stakes.
