Longstocking was an $80,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July yearling in 2013. At the races, she finished in the top three in 13 of her 23 starts and earned $133,264 while competing at the four major tracks in North America (Saratoga, Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita and Del Mar) in 21 of her 23 starts. Her dam, Pot of Tricks, produced five other winners, including Dangerous Maize (57-5-6-6, $119,505), Tale Be Told ($81,449) and Start Your Engine ($74,746).
Into Mischief has steadily moved up the General Sire List in each of the last four years, culminating at the No. 1 spot in 2019 when his progeny earnings reached $18,916,923, more than $3.5 million ahead of second-place Curlin. He also led in number of winners with 218, and tied for first in repeat winners with 77. He is the sire of three champions, 66 black-type winners (3 already in 2020), 457 lifetime winners and progeny earnings of more than $62 million ($709,488 already in 2020, through Jan. 21). He's the only sire with four seven-figure horses at the 2019 sales, including a record-setting $1.8 million filly at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic. His yearlings have sold for nearly $99 million.
Longstocking was sold in foal to Ashford Stud's Super Saver stallion Competitive Edge, winner of the Gr. I Hopeful and Gr. III Pat Day Mile and an earner of $519,280; he stands for $12,500. In 2019, Competitive Edge finished sixth on the freshman sire list with progeny earnings of $1,366,656. He had 25 winners, two behind co-leaders American Pharoah, Constitution and Tapiture, including four black-type winners.
