Countless Fun: Ghostzapper-Countess Curlin, by Curlin
Countless Fun is the latest broodmare to take up residency at Circle 8 Ranch. She's a 3-year-old bred by the famed Stonestreet Thoroughbreds and was a $275,000 Keeneland September yearling.
Campaigning for Adena Springs, her sire Ghostzapper compiled a record of 9-0-1 in 11 starts with earnings of more than $3.44 million. He was a six-time stakes-winner and recorded the fastest time in the history of the Breeders' Cup Classic - 1:59.02 for 1 1/4 miles under 124 pounds - breaking the record previously held by Skip Away. He also posted the highest Beyer Speed Figure ever recorded around two turns - 128.
At Stud, Ghostzapper has been a leading sire since 2010 with lifetime earnings of nearly $82 million (through July 22), with a high of $11.2 million in 2017. He's the sire of five champions and nine millionaires, including Canadian Hall of Famers Shaman Ghost and Judy the Beauty. His latest graded stakes-winner is Guarana (6-5-0-1, $1,078,268) who won the Gr. I, $250,000 Madison at Keeneland on July 11, her third Gr. I score. He's the broodmare sire of Triple Crown winner Justify and Eclipse Award winner Drefong.
Lightly-raced Countess Curlin won three of her six starts and earned $78,889. She's a half-sister to Final Round (17-5-3-5, $385,012), a three-time stakes-winner by storm Cat who finished in the top four in 10 stakes, seven of them graded.
